Shevchenko (Ukrainian and Russian Шевченко ) is an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine with about 1,400 inhabitants.

The place belongs to the municipality of Pokrovsk , around the place large coal mines extend.

It is located in the western Donets Basin about 9 kilometers south of the city center of Pokrovsk and 59 kilometers north of the Donetsk Oblast Center.

The place was established as a coal mine in 1901 and received urban-type settlement status in 1938.
