Donske

Donske (Ukrainian Донське ; Russian Донское / Donskoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 5,000 inhabitants.

The urban-type settlement located on the banks of Maly Kaltschyk a 38 km long left tributary of Kaltschyk in eastern Rajons Volnovakha , about 13 kilometers south of Rajonzentrum Volnovakha and 56 kilometers south of Oblastzentrum Donetsk .

The place was founded in 1939/1946 as Schdaniwstroj (Жданівстрой) for the workers of a chemical-metallurgical factory , initially belonged to the district municipality of Stritenka and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1956, at the same time the name was changed to Donske.
