Andrijiwka (Ukrainian Андріївка ; Russian Андреевка / Andrejewka ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 2200 inhabitants.

geography

The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 62 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 10 kilometers north from the center of Snizhne to the city county counts them away.

The place forms its own settlement council within the city of Snizhne , the river Hlucha (Глуха) flows through the place in an easterly direction, immediately to the north the Luhansk Oblast ( Rajon Antrazyt ) borders the local area in the form of the river Mius .

history

Andriivka was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1789, was the seat of a Volost administration from 1873, received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1938 and has been occupied by separatists from the Donetsk People's Republic since the summer of 2014 during the war in Ukraine .
