Kontarne (Ukrainian Контарне ; Russian Контарное / Kontarnoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 1500 inhabitants.

geography

The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 48 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 5 kilometers north from the center of Shakhtarsk to the city county counts them away.

The place forms the settlement council of the same name, which has also included the urban-type Moskowske settlement (4 kilometers northeast), which is administratively assigned to the city of Shakhtarsk, since 2009 .

history

The place was founded in 1932 and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1956, since summer 2014 the place has been occupied by separatists of the Donetsk People's Republic during the course of the Ukraine war .
