Sajzewe (Ukrainian Зайцеве ; Russian Зайцево / Saizewo ) is an urban-type settlement in the east of the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast with about 3400 inhabitants. The place is located 21 kilometers south of the district capital Bachmut , 11 kilometers north of Horlivka and 49 kilometers north of the Oblast capital Donetsk on the river Bachmutowka (Бахмутовка)
Sajzewe was founded in 1776, in 2014 he was during the war in the Ukraine occupied by separatist forces, in the second half of 2015, the local area was recaptured by the Ukrainian army since then is Sajzewe near the front to the separatist regions of Donetsk People's Republic .
Until September 8, 2016, the place belonged within the settlement council of the same name to the urban area of Horliwka (in the Stadtrajon Mykytiwka), but was then attached to the Bachmut Rajon .
