Shaft

Schachtne (Ukrainian Шахтне ; Russian Шахтное / Schachtnoje ) is an urban-type settlement in the east of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 800 inhabitants.

The urban-type settlement is located in the southeast of the urban area of Kharzysk , about 12 kilometers from the city center of Volnovacha and 29 kilometers east of the Donetsk Oblast center on the Krynka River. The railway line from Ilowajsk to Tores runs through the village .

Administratively, the place belongs to the municipality of Kharzysk and is in turn subordinate to the settlement council of Trojitsko-Kharzysk together with 4 other urban-type settlements and a village .

The place arose around the shaft № in the late 1950s. 39; it has had urban-type settlement status since 1957. In 2010 the conveyor systems and the shaft were shut down. During the war in Ukraine , the place was occupied by separatists from the Donetsk People's Republic in 2014 .
