Sjewerne (Ukrainian Сєверне ; Russian Северное / Severoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with around 10,000 inhabitants.
geography
The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 60 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 8 kilometers northwest from the center of Snizhne to the city county counts them away.
The site is within the city Snizhne own municipal council municipality which includes the settlements Moltschalyne (Молчалине) and Suchiwske count (Сухівське), through the town the river flows Hlucha (Глуха), a tributary of the Mius in north direction.
history
Sjewerne was established in 1928, received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1938 and has been occupied by separatists from the Donetsk People's Republic since the summer of 2014 during the war in Ukraine .
