Novhorodske (Ukrainian Новгородське ; Russian Новгородское / Novgorodskoje ) is an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine with about 10,000 inhabitants.

The village is a settlement council community, which in turn is a part of the municipality of Torezk is to this include the settlements of urban type Nelipiwka , the villages Jurjiwka (Юр'ївка) and Leonidiwka (Леонідівка) and the settlements Sucha Balka (Суха Балка) and Walentyniwka (Валентинівка).

Nowhorodske located in the western Donets Basin , about 7 kilometers south of the center of Torezk and 40 kilometers north of Oblastzentrum Donetsk removed through the village runs a branch line from Kostiantynivka after Yasynuvata and the Kryvyi Torez .

The place was founded in 1892 by German colonists from the Chortitza colony as Нью Йорк / Nju Jork ("New York"), in 1951 it was renamed to its current name, and in 1938 it was granted the status of an urban-type settlement.

In the course of the war in Ukraine , the place has been close to the front line to the areas controlled by the separatists since 2015.
