KOATUU
Classification of objects of the administrative-territorial system of Ukraine ( КОАТУУ , Класифікатор об'єктів адміністративно-територіального устрою України / Klassyfikator objektiw administratywno-terytorialnoho ustroju Ukrajiny - "key to administratively-territorial objects of Ukraine") is a key for the classification of administrative objects of Ukraine , similar to the municipality key in German-speaking or the Russian OKATO system.
Objects
The KOATUU system differentiates between the following objects:
- Autonomous Republic of Crimea
- Oblasts
- Rajons
- Cities
- Stadtrajone
- Urban-type settlements
- District councils
- Settlements
- Villages
Structure and structure
The system consists of four hierarchical levels, an identification block is used for specification: XX XXX XXX XX with the following code designations:
- Numbers 1–2 - first level in the hierarchy
- Autonomous Republic of Crimea
- Oblasts
- Cities with a special status
- Numbers 3–5 - second level in the hierarchy
- Cities under oblast administration
- Rajons
- Stadtrajone in cities with a special status
- Numbers 6–8 - third level in the hierarchy
- Cities under district administration
- Stadtrajone in cities under oblast administration
- Urban-type settlements
- District councils
- Numbers 9-10 - fourth level in the hierarchy
- Settlements
- Villages
The numbers 3, 6 and 9-10 have the following code equivalents:
- Number 3:
- 1 - city under oblast administration
- 2 - Rajon
- 3 - Stadtrajon
- Number 6:
- 1 - City under district administration
- 2 - not defined
- 3 - Stadtrajon in cities under oblast administration
- 4 - Urban-type settlement under municipal administration
- 5 - urban-type settlement under district administration
- 6 - Urban-type settlement under the municipal administration
- 7 - City under municipal administration
- 8 - District council under district administration
- 9 - Landratsgemeinde under municipal administration
Numbers 9 and 10 stand for the village and settlement parts of a municipality and are numbered consecutively. If there are no villages or settlements, the code “00” is assumed, otherwise the first place begins with the code “01”, the second then with “02” etc.
