Meschowe (Ukrainian Межове ; Russian Межевое / Meschewoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast with about 1200 inhabitants.
geography
The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 14 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 12 kilometers southeast from the city of Makiivka , whose urban district counts them away.
The place belongs to the settlement council of Hrusko-Sorjanske (2 kilometers southeast), which administratively is assigned to the Stadtrajon Hirnyz within Makijiwka.
history
The place arose as a mining settlement after the First World War with the Russian name Soglassije (Согласие), later the place was renamed Meshowe and in 1957 the status of an urban-type settlement, since summer 2014 the place has been occupied by separatists of the Donetsk People's Republic during the Ukraine War .
