Salisne (Ukrainian Залісне ; Russian Залесное / Salesnoje ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine in the Donetsk Oblast with about 2,400 inhabitants.
geography
The urban-type settlement located in the Don Basin , about 67 kilometers east of Oblastzentrum Donetsk and 5 kilometers north-east from the center of Snizhne to the city county counts them away.
The place forms its own settlement council within the city of Snizhne , a tributary of the Hlucha (Глуха) flows through the place in a northerly direction, immediately to the east the Luhansk Oblast ( Antrazyt Rajon ) borders the local area.
In the local area there is a disused paint factory and on the outskirts of the former Remowka-Vostochnaja shaft (Ремовка-Восточная), parts of the crashed Malaysia Airlines flight 17 were found at the site.
history
Salisne was founded in 1948, barracks were built here as early as 1926, and in December 1957 the existing settlement was given the status of an urban-type settlement and was named after the nearby Salisne forest. In the summer of 2014, the place was occupied by separatists of the Donetsk People's Republic during the war in Ukraine .
