Siversk ( Ukrainian Сіверськ ; Russian Северск Seversk ) is a city in the north of the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast with about 12,000 inhabitants (2014).
The village was founded in 1913 is located in Rajon Bachmut on the territorial road T-05-13 and on the banks of Bachmutka , a 88 km long tributary of the Seversky Donets , 36 km northwest of the Rajonzentrum Bachmut . Siversk received city status in 1961. The city has a train station on the Kharkiv – Horlivka railway , and the Siversk – Lichaya railway begins here .
Until August 2, 1973 the place was named Jama (Яма).
