In 1953 the North Donetsk Railway was absorbed by the Soviet Railways , after the end of the Soviet Union the Ukrainian part was transferred to the Ukrzalisnyzja, the Russian part was transferred to the Russian State Railways. The line between Iswaryne and Lichaja has been closed since the 1990s due to the border location and was largely dismantled between 2000 and 2002.
