Marius Toba , b. Tobă , (born January 9, 1968 in Reșița ) is a former German gymnast of Romanian origin.

Toba grew up in the Romanian city of Reșița, where he started gymnastics at the age of four. In 1986 he moved to Steaua Bucharest and was included in the junior national team. At the Junior European Championships in Karlsruhe in the same year he won the title on the rings.

In 1987 Toba took part in the world championships for the first time and reached seventh place with the Romanian gymnastics team. The Romanians won the same place at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

After the Romanian Revolution in 1989 , Toba moved to Germany and obtained German citizenship in 1991. In 1992 he became German champion on floor, parallel bars, horizontal bar and rings. At the European Gymnastics Championships in the same year he had his first international start for Germany and was fifth on the rings. In 1994 Toba won the bronze medal with the German team at the European Championships and the German team reached fifth place at the 1994 World Gymnastics Championships in Dortmund. In that year he was also German all-around champion.

At the 1995 World Gymnastics Championships , Toba was fourth on the rings and seventh with the team. In 1996 Toba took part in his second Olympic Games . In Atlanta he was seventh on the rings and with the team. At the European Championships in the same year he was runner-up on the rings.

At the European Championships in 2000 Toba was fifth on the rings and with the team. The 32-year-old Toba had not qualified for the Olympic Games . Only two days before the German team's departure to Sydney did he find out that he was nominated because several gymnasts had to cancel due to injuries. In Australia, Toba was the oldest athlete in the entire gymnastics field and was the only German to qualify for an apparatus finale, finishing sixth on the rings.

Marius Toba has two children. His son Andreas Toba took part in the gymnastics competitions at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
