The Donetsk Railways (Ukrainian Донецька залізниця ; Russian Донецкая железная дорога / Donetskaya schelesnaja doroga , German about "Donetsk railway") was a regional operator of rail transport in the eastern Ukraine , headquartered in Donetsk . It belonged to the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzalisnyzja . It operated the railroad traffic over a total distance of about 3000 kilometers with 239 railway stations.
history
The history of the company begins with the opening of the first line between Kursk via Kharkiv to Azov in 1869 through the then Kursk-Kharkov-Azov Railway . Later routes are added by various railway companies ( Katharinenbahn , Konstantinbahn , Donezer Kohlenbahn , Norddonezer Eisenbahn ).
Finally, in May 1953, a resolution by the Council of Ministers created the society in its current dimensions. In the course of the fighting in the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, there were severe restrictions on rail traffic in the regions concerned. The railway company operated up to the fighting in 2014 the route networks in the oblasts of Donetsk and Luhansk , as well as parts of other surrounding oblasts ( Kharkiv Oblast , Zaporizhia Oblast , Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ).
division
By a decision of the Verkhovna Rada, the operation of the parts of the line still under Ukrainian control was transferred to the Piwdenna Salisnyzja and the Prydniprowska Salisnyzja ; in fact, the operation is largely carried out by the Lyman Railway Directorate, and on May 29, 2016 the line between Trojitske was reopened and Stanyzja Luhanska (part of the Waluiki – Shakhty railway ).
