Dongfeng Motor Company Limited is an automobile manufacturer based in Wuhan , People's Republic of China . It is a 50:50 joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Nissan . It produces cars under the brand name Nissan and commercial vehicles as Dongfeng. Nissan Altima , Nissan Lannia , Nissan Sylphy , Nissan Tiida , Nissan Kicks , Nissan Murano , Nissan Qashqai , Nissan Terra and Nissan X-Trail are currently manufactured. Dongfeng Motor Company Limited has also been producing Venucia brand vehicles in China since 2012 .
History, corporate development
Dongfeng Motor Company Limited was officially established on June 9, 2003 and began operations on July 1, 2003. The company's headquarters were relocated from Shiyan to Wuhan in 2006. In September 2010, Dongfeng Motor Company Limited presented the new automobile brand Venucia, Chinese "Qi Chen", which, in contrast to the other products, consists of vehicles developed in China especially for the domestic market. In July 2011, the Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Nissan announced that additional 50 billion yuan (8 billion US dollars ) to invest in Dongfeng Motor Company Limited to, 2015. This is intended to implement the plan to increase sales from around 1.3 million vehicles in 2010 to over 2.3 million units. In April 2012 it was announced that Dongfeng Motor Company will also produce vehicles from the range of Nissan's luxury brand Infiniti for China from 2014 . Mention should be made here of a long version of the Infiniti Q50 and the second generation of the Infiniti QX50 .
In June 2012, Dongfeng Motor Company announced that it would invest 5 billion yuan (US $ 793 million) in building a new manufacturing facility in Dalian , northeast China, to produce Nissan vehicles. The plant is scheduled to start production in 2014 with an initial annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles and later 300,000 vehicles.
In the first quarter of 2017, it was announced that Dongfeng Motor Company was planning to establish an electric car sub-brand called "Jun Feng" under the "Dongfeng" brand, which it did some time later. In 2018, for example, the “Dongfeng Jun Feng ER30 Skio BEV”, based on the “Dongfeng Nissan Kai Chen R30”, came onto the market.
