The Nissan Bluebird Sylphy is a four-door sedan of the lower middle class or middle class of the automobile manufacturer Nissan, mainly offered in Japan since 2000 . In Taiwan , the Bluebird Sylphy is produced by the Yulon Motor Company and continues to be produced under the name Nissan Bluebird like its predecessors . In Malaysia, on the other hand, the vehicle is assembled under the name Nissan Sylphy . This is also exported to Singapore and other markets.

The first Bluebird Sylphy, offered exclusively in Japan, was a Nissan Pulsar of the N16 series with upgraded equipment and a modified radiator grille; the sister model Almera was also offered outside Germany as a four-door notchback sedan. There was a choice of transversely installed four-cylinder engines with 1.5, 1.8 or 2 liters. The middle model was also available with all-wheel drive.

At the Tokyo Motor Show in late 2005, Nissan presented the second generation Bluebird Sylphy, again only as a four-door sedan. The second generation is one class higher than the previous model and can be considered the successor to the Nissan Bluebird , which was discontinued in 2001 . Four-cylinder engines with a capacity of 1.5 or 2 liters are available, and the continuously variable automatic transmission, called X-CVT by Nissan, is new. The second generation will continue to be offered in parallel with the third generation in many countries.

The third generation of the Sylphy was presented to the public at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show . The sedan is also sold as the Nissan Pulsar and the Nissan Sentra .
The Sylphy was launched on the Japanese market on December 5, 2012 and is produced in Yokosuka .
The Sentra will be built in Izhevsk for the Russian market . The vehicle was introduced there in 2014.
At the LA Auto Show 2016, Nissan presented the Sentra as a 140 kW (190 PS) Nismo version. In the United States, this variant came on the market in spring 2017.
At the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018, Nissan presented the Sylphy ZE, an electrically powered version of the vehicle. The series version has been built since August 2018. The drive comes from the first generation of the Nissan Leaf . The electric version should not be sold outside of China.

At the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2019, Nissan presented a new generation of the series. In China, the sedan has been sold as the Nissan Sylphy since July 2019 . In November 2019, the version for the North American market was presented at the LA Auto Show . It will be offered again as the Nissan Sentra .
Technical specifications
The new generation of the Sylphy will be powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 102 kW (139 hp). A 5-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable gearbox are used as the gearbox .
