The Nissan 100NX (type designation B13) is a sports coupé from the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan , which was first introduced in Germany as the successor to the EXA or Pulsar NX N13 ( USA ).
Model history
The 100NX was created on the platform of the Sunny N14 and shared the technology with it except for the sheet metal.
The 100NX was presented in Germany in autumn 1990 and went on sale in April 1991. It was offered for introduction with the GA16DS engine, which was followed in June 1991 by the GTi sports model with the SR20DE engine.
The design, in particular, was supposed to set itself apart from the uniformity of the automobile landscape of that time, which is why it polarized primarily through the headlights set deep into the front.
A special feature of the car is the removable Targa roof , which is a convertible allows feeling. In contrast to the true Targa roof, a center bar connects the A-pillar with the rear of the coupé - the so-called T-bar roof. In addition, the windows on the driver and passenger side are frameless.
In May 1993, the carburettor engine , which sometimes tended to jerk, was taken out of the range as part of a minor facelift and replaced by a 1.6-liter injection engine ( GA16DE ), but the performance values did not change. In the course of the facelift, the safety equipment was improved by a steering wheel with impact absorber and flank protection in the doors. The facelift can be visually recognized by the trim and bumper strips painted in the vehicle color.
In November 1993, a 75 kW variant (102 PS) of the GA16DE appeared as the 100NX SR, which, however, was only delivered with a fixed roof (SR = Steel Roof). The increased output results from a modified control unit and the larger diameter of the intake manifold. In addition, the gear ratio was partially changed.
In October 1995, production of the small coupé was discontinued without replacement. In Japan, based on the Nissan Almera introduced in September 1995 , which was sold in Japan as the Nissan Pulsar , a compact coupe named Lucino rolled off the assembly line .
Motorization
The 100NX only offered petrol engines, all of which were inline four-cylinder . The four valves per cylinder are controlled by a control chain that drives the two overhead camshafts .
