Nissan Primera

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nissan Primera is a mid-range vehicle from the car manufacturer Nissan , which was produced from mid-1990 to spring 2007 in the three series P10 (W10), P11 (W11) and P12 (W12).

In autumn 1990 it came on the market as the successor to the Nissan Bluebird and was available in all series as a notchback and hatchback . There was also the Traveler (the term denotes the Nissan station wagon models), which, however, was not available in the first P11 series (1996–1997). The factory code of the station wagon differs from the other versions as it contains a 'W' (for wagon ) instead of the 'P' . The Primera was largely manufactured in Nissan's English plant in Sunderland , only the station wagon models of the P10 were produced in Japan.

As of spring 2006, the variety of equipment on the Primera was reduced. Production finally ended in spring 2007.

In the United States, the P10 and P11 generations were marketed under the name of Nissan's luxury brand Infiniti as the G20 .

The application of the Primera trademark, which was already registered in the EU , was initially difficult in Austria because the patent office initially refused the registration due to its lack of distinctive character. Nissan, however, appealed to the Supreme Patent and Trademark Senate, which gave this result and confirmed that Primera can be registered as a trademark for motor vehicles.
