The Isuzu Elf UT is a box-shaped pickup truck that was produced by Isuzu from 1996 to 2001 as the successor to the Isuzu Elf Route Van . Specially designed for the delivery of heavy goods within large cities, this segment is dominated in Japan by the Toyota Quick Delivery , which is known as the walk through van . By means of badge engineering , the model was also offered by Nissan as the Nissan Atlas MAX. 2001 took over the succession of Isuzu Begin .

history

The Elf UT debuted on the home market in November 1996. As the name suggests, the technical basis is the Isuzu Elf , but the Elf UT was given a hood in the style of European panel vans. The UT, however, basically had the driver's cab of the 4th generation of the Isuzu Elf, although the 5th generation started a little later. In contrast to other competitors, the UT was not available with all-wheel drive. The engine used was the 4JG2 3.1 L diesel engine with a 1.5 ton payload and the 4HF1 4.3L diesel engine for the 2 and 3 ton payload variants. The transmission took place by means of a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. In August 1999 there was a technical revision with an improved braking system and reduced emissions. In addition, Isuzu has now also delivered a mobile home base and a minibus based on the UT. In October 2001 it was replaced by the Isuzu Begin .
