Under the name Nissan Almera Tino , Nissan sold a five-seater compact van based on the second generation of the Nissan Almera (internal: N16) , which was produced from mid-2000 to early 2006.
history
The Almera Tino was introduced as a replacement for the Nissan Sunny Traveler , which was discontinued in the spring of 2000 . Since there was no station wagon version of the first Almera (N15), the Sunny had to fill this gap.
Nissan followed the trend of ever more emerging compact vans and as a result offered the Almera Tino from July 2000. The engine range consisted of the gasoline engines with 1769 cm³ and 114 HP or 1998 cm³ (automatic) and 136 HP and the two diesel engines with 2184 cm³ (112 and 136 HP).
Facelift
In January 2003, the Almera Tino was visually and technically revised, and from April it was available from dealers. The 2.0-liter engine, which was only available with automatic, was removed from the range due to its high consumption. The only remaining gasoline engine besides the Renault diesels was the 1.8-liter four-cylinder, which now developed 116 hp.
In February 2006 the production of the Almera Tino was stopped. The Nissan Note can be seen as the unofficial successor to the Tino.
