The Nissan URGE (Eng .: urge) is a concept vehicle from the Japanese manufacturer Nissan , which was presented at the North American International Auto Show 2006. The lead Nissan design team from California based the development of the car heavily on the styling and technology of motorcycles . Some body elements are reminiscent of powerful super sports cars and the engine, a high-revving unit with a small displacement, is typical of these two-wheelers in terms of design. A sequential six-speed gearbox is used to transmit power to the rear wheels. The body made of aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastic has a targa roof that can be closed with panels.

The URGE was also influenced by an internet study that was carried out before the work began. In the course of this, young Americans were asked about their idea of a perfect car and the most frequently voiced ideas were incorporated into the development. For example, an Xbox 360 game console has been integrated into the vehicle, on which you can play a modified version of the racing game Project Gotham Racing 3 with the engine switched off . The steering wheel and the pedals of the concept vehicle serve as operating elements. According to Nissan, the URGE could have been offered as an inexpensive alternative to the 350Z , but a production-ready model was never planned.
