The Nissan NV200 is a pickup truck produced by the car manufacturer Nissan . It is available in two body versions as a panel van or station wagon , each of which can be equipped with four, five or six doors. The curb weight is given as 1292–1440 kg. The station wagon can be ordered with five or seven seats. The NV200 was voted Van of the Year in 2010 and received this award as Nissan's 2nd commercial vehicle in Europe after the Nissan Sunny Van in 1993. The NV200 received the award mainly because of its low price and its large loading area. The NV200 for Europe is manufactured together with the compact van Nissan Evalia by the Spanish Nissan Motor Ibérica in Barcelona . The NV200 Vanette, on the other hand, rolls off the production line in the Shōnan plant of the manufacturer Nissan Shatai .

In Europe, the Nitro versions were adjusted to the model year 2020, the Transportation versions of the NV250 based on the Renault Kangoo W replaced. For the compact van NV200 Evalia there will only be a successor based on the successor to the Kangoo announced for 2020. The electrically driven e-NV200 will continue to be manufactured and sold.

Furnishing

The NV200 is offered in a total of three equipment variants. The Comfort and Premium lines are available for all body variants, only the Pro variant is reserved exclusively for panel vans and offers the smallest scope.

Taxi in New York

Nissan NV200

The Nissan NV200 (clearly alias Nissan Evalia in this version ) was selected by the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) as the standard taxi for New York City in May 2011 . Starting at the end of 2013, around 13,000 NV200 / Evalia vehicles will be used as taxis for the next ten years. These are produced in Mexico, the bumpers are in the same color as the car and the vehicles have some other special features, such as a glass roof and two USB ports in the rear.

Since 2013, the Nissan NV200 has also been available as an electric car, both as a panel van e-NV200 and as a 5- and 7-seater minibus e-NV200 Evalia . Nissan invested around 100 million euros in the production facility in Barcelona. Up to model year 2017, the vehicle was equipped with the same lithium-ion battery as the Nissan Leaf with 24  kWh , which enables a range of around 170 km. In 2018 the capacity was increased by 60% to 40 kWh. According to the manufacturer, this allows a range of 275 km in city traffic. The e-NV200 can be charged via a type 1 plug as well as via the CHAdeMO connection. Both connections are located behind a hinged cover on the front of the vehicle.

Mitsubishi Delica D: 3 since 2011, Chevrolet City Express from 2014

As part of contracts for the mutual supply of commercial vehicles, the NV200 has been offered in Asia by Mitsubishi Motors as Mitsubishi Delica D: 3 using badge engineering since 2011 . In May 2013, Nissan signed a deal with General Motors . Nissan then produced the NV200 as the Chevrolet City Express , also using badge engineering , which Chevrolet sold in the USA and Canada from 2014 to 2018 . The production was stopped due to small numbers. In total, less than 30,000 units of the "City Express" were sold in the USA.

Ashok Leyland styles

Through the joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Nissan, the NV200 was manufactured from 2013 to 2015 at the joint Ashok Leyland-Nissan Pvt. Ltd. Produced at Chennai in India as Ashok Leyland styles. The vehicle was only available here as a seven- or eight-seater minivan with the Renault-Nissan 1.5-liter diesel engine with 75 and 136 hp. The van based on the Nissan Evalia was originally supposed to be available as a natural gas vehicle .
