The Proudia and its larger sister model Mitsubishi Dignity were developed together with the South Korean company Hyundai , which sold its own variant under the name Hyundai Equus .
The Proudia was available in three versions, the Proudia A, B or C. The Proudia A and B were powered by a 3.5 l V6 with 176 kW (240 hp), while the C was powered by a 4.5 newly developed by Mitsubishi I-V8 with direct injection , which developed 206 kW (280 hp).
