The Mitsubishi Pajero Junior was a mini SUV by Mitsubishi Motors that was produced between 1995 and 1998. It was based on an elongated Mitsubishi Minica platform and was a larger version of the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini . However, it was designed primarily for export to Asia and therefore did not fit into the kei car class. The SOHC 1.1 liter 16 valve engine (type 4A31) with a 3- speed automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox was used as the engine. Unlike the Pajero Mini, the Pajero Junior was optionally available with the Easy Select 4WD from the start of construction, with which the all-wheel drive could be deactivated or activated while driving. In the standard equipment there was a rigid four-wheel drive. Compared to the Mini, the Junior also had front airbags , side airbags and an anti-lock braking system as standard. With the upgrading of the kei car class and the increase in size of the Pajero Mini, the Junior was practically overtaken in his data and production was therefore discontinued at the end of 1998.
