The Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon (translated: Silver Dove ) was a series of motor scooters that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries produced between 1946 and 1963. The first model was the C-10 with a 112 cc engine with 1.5 hp, which was based on a scooter from the United States by Koujiro Maruyama . The production took place at the Nagoya machine works . Together with the Mitsubishi Mizushima tricycle pickup truck, the Silver Pigeon was Mitsubishi's first contribution to the Japanese post-war motorization boom. The biggest competitors were the Fuji Rabbit and 1954 the Honda Juno. The Silver Pigeon was constantly being improved and therefore remained successful in production for nearly twenty years. The Japanese motorcyclist magazines voted her "Best in Styling" in the 1950s for three years in a row. From 1950 to 1964 it had an average of 45 percent market share in the domestic market. By the end of production in 1963, over 463,000 copies had been made. The C-200 model built in 1960 was the most popular model with almost 38,000 sales. The last model C-240 in 1963 had a 143 cc engine with 9.2 hp and weighed 143 kg.
