The Mitsubishi Space Star is a van built from autumn 1998 to early 2005 by the Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors based on the Carisma .

At times, the Space Star was the most popular Mitsubishi model in Europe. Since both the Space Star and the Carisma were only intended for the European market, they were also built in Europe. The production site was the Dutch plant in Born , where the Volvo S40 / V40 was also produced.

The range of engines of the Space Star filed in the gasoline engines of 1.3 liter with a 60 and 63 kW (82 hp and 86), about the 1.6 liter 72 kW (98 hp) to the 1.8 liter - GDI engine (90 kW / 122 PS). The 1.9-liter common rail - diesel engines come from a cooperation with Renault and offered from early 2001 in the Space Star. They produce 75 or 85 kW (102 or 115 PS).

In the fall of 2002, the Space Star received a makeover at the front and rear. In addition, the 1.8 l petrol engine was revised (now with intake manifold injection and 82 kW / 112 hp) and an additional 1.9 l diesel was added to the range.

Its production ended in early 2005.
