Model history
The Chevrolet Sprint, which was offered in North America from the spring of 1984, was an only slightly modified Suzuki Swift , made in Japan .
The Sprint, which was initially only available as a three-door and from the end of 1985 also as a larger five-door, was powered by a one-liter three-cylinder engine with 49 hp (36 kW). The Sprint E / R model variant, designed to be particularly economical, was the most economical car on offer in North America, with a standard consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
From autumn 1988 the Sprint was sold under the name Geo Metro via the newly created brand Geo (car brand ) . In Canada , however, the car was still called the Chevrolet Sprint.
