The Chevrolet Fleetmaster Series DK was an upper middle class passenger car manufactured by Chevrolet in model year 1946 as the top model and successor to the pre-war model Chevrolet Special Deluxe . Essentially, the vehicles were technically and in style their pre-war counterparts. In 1947 the series was called 2100EK , in 1948 2100 FK .

The cars were equipped with an overhead-line six-cylinder engine of 3,548 cm 3 capacity, a power of 90 hp (66 kW) at 3300 min -1 scooped. The engine power was passed on to the rear wheels via a fully synchronized, manual three-speed gearbox with steering wheel shift.

Five body variants were available from the standard series: 2-door convertible and 2-door sports coupé with 5 seats each, two sedans with 2 or 4 doors and 6 seats each and a 5-door station wagon with 8 seats. The station wagon was a " Woody ", i. H. Its structure had a wooden frame that was visible from the outside and into which metal sheets were inserted.

In 1947 there was a slightly modified grille. In 1948 this was changed again by inserting a chrome-plated T; In addition, the windows had chrome-plated frames and the type designation Fleetmaster appeared in the rear area of ​​the alligator bonnet on both sides.

Fleetline (1946-1948)

As with the pre-war models, there was again a particularly luxuriously equipped sub-series of the Fleetmaster with the additional name Fleetline . It consisted of two models: a 4-door Sport Master sedan and a 2-door hatchback sedan called the Aerostar . The vehicles in this sub-series could be recognized by the three additional decorative strips behind the front and rear wheel cutouts.

In 1949 the Deluxe Series 2100GK replaced the Fleetmaster. In three years, 1,250,986 units were built, 574,992 of which were Fleetline. The most popular model was the Aerostar.
