The Aveo was introduced by GM Daewoo from summer 2006 as the successor to the Chevrolet Kalos or Daewoo Kalos, initially as a four-door notchback sedan. The three and five-door hatchback models followed in early 2008. Production for Europe ended in mid-2011. Up until 2017, the notchback sedan was offered on this technical basis in Mexico, among others.
