The Chevrolet Montana is a small pickup truck that General Motors makes in Brazil and sells in South America and similar markets. In Mexico the model is offered as the Chevrolet Tornado and in South Africa as the Opel or Chevrolet Corsa Utility (GM4300) or Chevrolet Utility (GM4200). The first generation Montana is based on the gamma platform of the Opel Corsa C (GM4300). The second generation (from 2010) is based on the older GM4200 platform of the Chevrolet Agile .

The model is currently being manufactured in São José dos Campos , Brazil. In Mexico and South Africa it is assembled from Brazilian parts kits .

The Montana was delivered as standard with a 1.4-l in-line four-cylinder Econoflex engine and a 1.8-l in-line four -cylinder gasoline engine with 16 valves of flex fuel (for alcohol operation). For some markets, such as South Africa , the vehicle is available with other engines, such as a 1.4 l R4 petrol engine (only for petrol operation) or a 1.7 l R4 diesel engine with turbocharging from Isuzu . In 2009 the Montana was available in three versions: Conquest , Sport and Arena . The three versions differ in design and additional equipment.

According to the manufacturer, the platform can be loaded with 735 kg.

The first generation of the Chevrolet Montana was offered in South Africa as the Opel Corsa Utility from 2004. In 2010 the name was changed to Chevrolet Corsa Utility.

The Montana has been based on the Chevrolet Agile since 2010 . The payload is 734 kg. The side skirts were redesigned in 2017 to reduce wind noise. For the South African market, a preview of the Chevrolet Utility was shown for the first time at the Johannesburg International Motor Show .

Mexico

The Montana replaced the old Chevrolet pickup based on the Opel Corsa B in model year 2004 , but under the name Tornado . It was based on the Opel Corsa C until 2011, even though the Corsa C had not been offered in Mexico since the end of 2008. The second generation has been available since 2011.
