The Chevrolet Cobalt on the Gamma II - platform is since 2011 angebotenener small car with notchback, in which General Motors the name of the US compact car offered Chevrolet Cobalt resumed.

Model history

The production vehicle was preceded by a concept vehicle that was presented at the Buenos Aires International Motor Show 2011. The small car has been built by General Motors do Brasil since 2011. UzAvtosanoat has been building it in Uzbekistan since September 2012 .

In 2016, the model received a facelift , giving it a more distinct look.

Although the model has a similar front design to the Chevrolet Agile and the second generation of the Chevrolet Montana , the models are only distantly related technically. Instead, the vehicle is based on the Gamma II platform .

In South America there is the vehicle with a 1.4-l and a 1.8-l R4 petrol engine that are designed for ethanol operation. Their maximum output is 75 kW or 79 kW when operated with alcohol. In Uzbekistan, the vehicle is available with a 1.5-liter R4 petrol engine that has a maximum output of 78 kW and is only intended for petrol operation. In all variants, the engine power is transmitted exclusively to the front wheels . The vehicle has a five-speed manual transmission as standard ; A six- speed automatic transmission is available for the 1.8-liter engine on the Uzbek market or in South America for an extra charge . The maximum speed for all variants in South America is 170 km / h. With the 2017 model year, the 1.4-l engine was discontinued in South America and the maximum output of the 1.8-l engine in ethanol operation was increased to 82 kW; the manual transmission now has 6 forward gears.
