The Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size sport utility vehicle from the General Motors brand Chevrolet . It has been available in North America since late 2008, replacing the TrailBlazer EXT and the Chevrolet Uplander . The model was initially built in Spring Hill (Tennessee) until November 2009 and has been built in the Delta Township near Lansing (Michigan) since 2010 . It is set up as a competitor model to the Ford Flex . The second generation of the SUV has been on the market since summer 2017.

The first-generation traverse was powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with direct gasoline injection and variable camshaft adjustment , which produces a maximum output of 210 kW (286 hp). A six-speed automatic transmission transfers the power to the two front wheels , with four-wheel drive available as an option.
The vehicle was presented in a study in 2000 at the Chicago Auto Show and first realized as a series model in 2005 with the Chevrolet Equinox first shown as a series model at the 2003 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) ; the production model of the Traverse was formally presented for the first time at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. The Traverse shares the Lambda - platform with the Buick Enclave , the GMC Acadia the first generation and the now-defunct Saturn Outlook . The grille shape that a rafter (Engl. Chevron ) was modeled also found in the Chevrolet models Malibu , Aveo , Cruze use and Equinox. In the 2013 model year, the vehicle was extensively revised.

The second generation Traverse made its formal debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in January 2017 and has been on sale in North America since July 2017. The total vehicle mass has been reduced by 164 kg compared to its predecessor. Like the Buick Enclave C1YB of the same generation, it is based on the GM C1XX platform with a long wheelbase. The vehicle first went on sale in Russia at the beginning of April 2018. In Russia only the 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with all-wheel drive is sold.
