The Wuling Sunshine is a car model from the Chinese automobile manufacturer SAIC GM Wuling . It was launched after GM and SAIC formed the joint venture in 2002. A revised version is also being built as the Wuling Hongtu and the Chevrolet N200 . The Chevrolet model is offered in South America , North Africa and the Middle East .
The minivan is available in variants with seven or eight seats. However, the third row of seats is not equipped with seat belts. Headrests are only optionally available for the second row. The model with an extended body is offered under the name “Wuling Sunshine Long Wheelbase”. Contrary to the name, the wheelbase does not differ from the shorter version. A pickup version with two seats is also available.
The top speed is between 105 and 135 km / h, depending on the version of the three-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission is used to transmit power to the rear wheels. The manufacturer advertises fuel consumption of less than 5 liters per 100 km at a constant 50 km / h.
In 2011, the Wuling Sunshine was the third best-selling car in the world with 943,000 units and number one in Chinese registration statistics. This led the model in the eight years before. The Sunshine is not exported.
