The GMC Acadia is a passenger car model of the US General Motors division GMC . This is a crossover SUV built in Delta Township ( Eaton County ) since 2006 . Like all other GMC models, this is not exported to Europe.

The first generation was based on the GM Lambda platform, which the Chevrolet Traverse , the Buick Enclave and the Saturn Outlook also use. The 5.18 meter long seven or eight-seater replaced the SUV Envoy XL and the Van Safari when production began in December 2006 .

The Acadia was available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and is powered by a Vortec 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 205 kW (279 hp). Three equipment lines are offered: the basic model SLE , the higher-quality SLT1 version and the top model SLT2 . All versions have a CD radio with MP3 function, electric windows, a tire pressure display , the StabiliTrak with traction control and rollover prevention as well as side and head airbags as standard .

An extensive facelift was presented in 2012. The Acadia got a new front mask, while the engine power was increased slightly.

The second generation of the Acadia was presented at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2016 and has been on sale in North America since May 2016. Compared to the previous model, the new Acadia is smaller. In addition to the already available 3.6-liter six-cylinder, a variant with four cylinders is also available. In Australia, the vehicle has been sold under the Holden brand since the end of 2018 . A revised version of the Acadia was presented in February 2019.
