The Holden Hurricane was a two-seat concept vehicle that Holden built in 1969. The Hurricane had a V8 mid-engine with a displacement of 4156 cc and an output of 191 kW. The car was only 991 mm high and had no normal doors, but a cockpit hood that could be swiveled forward electromechanically using the front wheels.

Advanced technology

The Hurricane was one of the most advanced vehicles of its time. Holden described it as a test vehicle that enabled the company to study "design trends, drive systems and other long-term developments." The Hurricane had a navigation system called “retro GPS” , which used magnetic signals from transmitters built into the road, digital instruments, a radio with automatic station search , automatic air conditioning “Comfortron” and wide-angle video surveillance with a screen in the dashboard.
