The Holden Adventra is a soft roader that was manufactured by Holden in Australia from 2003 to 2006 as the successor to the Frontera . It is based on the Commodore station wagon of this year, but has all-wheel drive in contrast to the rear-wheel drive of the Commodore.
Adventra sales never lived up to Holden's expectations, especially when compared to competitor Ford Territory . So it was taken out of the program in 2006 and replaced by the Captiva , which Daewoo from South Korea bought.

A preliminary Adventra VZ was presented in August 2004 at the same time as the Commodore VZ series, but was basically just the well-known Adventra VY with VZ nameplates. The actual facelift series of the VZ was introduced in February 2005 and with it a V6 engine as basic equipment. The Adventra was now available in four trim levels - SX6, CX6, LX6 and LX8. The six-cylinder models had a 3.6-liter V6 with 190 kW (258 hp) and a five-speed automatic. The output of the V8 engine known from the VY was increased to 250 kW (340 hp) and was only available in the top model LX8. Production of this model was discontinued in December 2005 because Holden stopped producing this engine and saw insufficient reason to invest in the production of GM's 4th generation 6.0-liter V8.
