The Holden Rodeo is a pickup truck that was offered from 1980 to 2008 by the Australian automobile manufacturer Holden , which belongs to General Motors .

In December 1980, the Rodeo KB , which Isuzu manufactured in Japan as a variant of the Isuzu Faster model for Holden, was presented in Australia. The car was available as a pickup, flatbed or double cab and was equipped with a 1.6 l in-line four-cylinder engine that developed 67 bhp (49 kW). It was available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and two different wheelbases, as well as with a manual four-speed gearbox and steering wheel gearshift. The radiator grille had a horizontal chrome strip and was flanked by two round headlights.

At the end of 1982 the Rodeo KB received its first facelift. The grille was now divided into 2 × 6 boxes, the round headlights had been replaced by rectangular headlights. A 1.8 l R4 petrol engine and a 2.2 l R4 diesel engine were also offered from 1983. The top model was the KB28 with a 2.0 l R4 engine and five-speed gearbox.

In February 1984 there was only the 2.0 l R4 as a basic version; the 2.2 l R4 diesel was available on request.

In 1985 the Rodeo KB received another facelift and additional superstructures - so u. a. a “space cab” (an elongated driver's cab with storage space behind the seats). In addition, the 2.3 liter R4 engine with a timing belt driven camshaft was offered. Four-speed transmission and steering wheel gearshift were no longer available from this point in time.

In 1986 the 2.3 liter R4 became standard equipment, and in 1987 another facelift followed. a. with an undivided, framed grille.

In August 1988 the new Holden Rodeo TF was presented, which was also a variant of the Isuzu Faster with longer wheelbases, which has now been renewed as well . The chassis was based on a modernized version of the Rodeo KB, but the superstructures were much more rounded and modern. Rectangular headlights with adjoining indicators and a black radiator grille with a horseshoe-shaped frame marked the front. There was also a new interior with a new dashboard. In addition to the basic model, a more luxurious LS version was offered.

Larger engines were available upon request, e.g. B. a 2.6 l R4 with 110 bhp (88 kW) or two diesel units with 2.5 l or 2.8 l and 78 bhp (57 kW), or 100 bhp (74 kW). A four-speed automatic transmission was also offered in conjunction with the 2.6-liter engine.

In 1990 and 1992 the TF Rodeo received minor facelifts.

In 2003 the new Rodeo RA was introduced in Australia, which is based on the Isuzu D-Max of the 1st series presented in 2002 . The vehicle was again enlarged in terms of its dimensions and was still available as a pickup with a normal and extended driver's cab, as a flatbed truck and as a double cab. Initially, a 2.5 l R4 turbo diesel with 115 bhp (85 kW) was the only engine available; Later came two petrol engines, an inline four-cylinder with 2.4 l displacement and 125 bhp (92 kW) and a V6 with 3.6 l displacement and 214 bhp (157 kW). An R4 turbodiesel with 3.0 l displacement and 145 bhp (107 kW) was also part of the engine range. Again, the vehicles were available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

In March 2007, the output of the 3.0 l R4 turbodiesel was increased to 162 bhp (120 kW).

In October 2008, the successor based on the Chevrolet Colorado was presented, which is also available in Australia as the Isuzu D-Max and the Holden Colorado .
