The Holden Coupé 60 is a hardtop sports coupe concept vehicle that Holden developed in Australia. It is intended to explore the possibilities of the current Holden Zeta platform with rear-wheel drive by combining styling inspired by the V8 supercar series with innovative technology and turning it into a roadworthy sports car. The Coupé 60 is based on the chassis of the VE Commodore with a shortened wheelbase.

The concept vehicle was first presented at the Melbourne International Motor Show 2008 together with the HSV W427 . The name of the car commemorates the 60th birthday of the start of car production with the 48-215 model in 1948 and shows the future direction of styling, design and engine technology at Holden.

Possible series production

When the Coupé 60 was unveiled, it raised hopes for another reincarnation of the famous Holden Monaro .

Its designers indicated that the car was ready for production, including the hardtop design without B-pillars. Series production is not excluded.

interpretation

The Coupé 60 is a luxury sports car with a wheelbase 57 mm shorter than that of the sedan. The front and rear spoilers made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic come from racing. The car has specially designed 21 "aluminum wheels with central locking with high-performance half-slick tires from Kumho .

The car is powered by a 6-liter V8 engine of the LS2 series with cylinder deactivation, which is also suitable for ethanol (E85) .
