The Holden SSX is a hatchback concept vehicle based on the VY Commodore but styled more aggressively. The front is more angular and has double projection headlights, fog lamps and a special grille. The rear has been completely redesigned and has a lower, aggressive bumper, blackened taillights and a tailgate, which together with the Rover SD1 and the Holden Torana made it one of the first hatchbacks in the world with a V8 engine. The car is painted in green metallic ("Kryptonite") and the interior is black and silver. The instruments glow deep red when the lighting is switched on. The car was just a concept vehicle and, along with other vehicles, graced the well-stocked Holden stand at the Sydney International Motor Show 2002.
