The GMC Envoy is a US- produced sport utility vehicle by General Motors that was sold from 2002 to 2009. Technically, the vehicle was based on the GMT360 platform. The previous model, GMC Jimmy , already had an equipment option called Envoy.
The model introduced in 2002 was a redesign based on the same platform as the Chevrolet TrailBlazer . At the end of 2008, production of the Envoy was discontinued. Due to overcapacity, the 2009 model was still available as a new car. The Envoy was priced between $ 30,000 and $ 38,000 in the United States. In Germany, the GMC Envoy, unlike the identical Chevrolet TrailBlazer, was not officially available.
The compact SUV Terrain has been in GMC's range of models since autumn 2009, replacing the Envoy as a successor. The Envoy XL was replaced by the GMC Acadia .
drive
The Envoy was powered either by a 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine with 214 kW (291 hp) in the two-wheel drive version or a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 222 kW (302 hp) in the all-wheel drive version . The fuel consumption was between 11 and 16 l / 100 km (factory specifications).
