The Chevrolet International Series AC was a middle class passenger car that was only manufactured by Chevrolet in model year 1929 as the only model series and successor to the National Series AB . The vehicle was introduced in December 1928 and was available with ten different bodies - six two-door and four four-door. In contrast to the four-cylinder predecessor model, the cars had overhead controlled six-cylinder in-line engines (OHV). The engine with a displacement of 3179 cm 3 developed an output of 46 bhp (34 kW) at 2600 min −1 . The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a single-disc dry clutch and a manual three-speed gearbox. All four wheels had mechanical brakes, drums in the front and outer band brakes in the rear.
The sales prices were at the level of the predecessor Capitol and were between US $ 525 and US $ 725. Because of the low price, the advertising said: "The six-cylinder for the price of a four-cylinder". After 13 months and 1,328,605 vehicles, the Universal Series AD replaced the International.
