The Pontiac Special Series 25 was a mid- size passenger car manufactured by Pontiac , a General Motors brand , in model year 1940 as the successor to the Quality 115 model .

In 1940 the Quality 115 was also fundamentally revised. Like its predecessor, the new Special was available as a 2-door coupé with three or five seats, as a 2 or 4-door sedan with five seats or as a 5-door station wagon with eight seats. However, the car had grown significantly in length and had an alligator hood and headlights integrated into the front fenders.

The side-valve six-cylinder engine with 3649 cc capacity was now 100 bhp (74 kW) at 3,700 min -1 from. Single-disc dry clutch, a fully synchronized three-speed gearbox with steering wheel shift, hydraulic brakes on all four wheels and independent front suspension were standard.

In the following year, the Torpedo model, manufactured in 1940, replaced the “Special”. In the only year of production, 106,892 cars were built.
