For this vehicle class, the standard equipment was very extensive, as it included, for example, ABS, double airbags, four-way electric windows, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and central locking with radio remote control.

In Russia, the first generation Nubira was produced as the Doninvest Orion .

Nubira (J150, 1999-2002)

During the facelift of the Nubira (J150) carried out in May 1999, the front and rear as well as the entire interior were redesigned and partly replaced by higher quality materials.

The dashboard got wooden inlays in the CDX equipment. The seats were also changed and now got more lateral support and contact surface.

The floor pan , the basic body shape , engine, electrics and drive train were retained. The hatchback version was withdrawn from the offer.

Daewoo also marketed the car in South Korea as "Nubira 2".

The J190 series was offered from mid-2002 to spring 2003.

The body shape of the J150 was adopted, external distinctions only concerned the front headlights (H4 instead of H1) and the side indicators (now in white). The rear lights have also been changed on the estate model. The engines now met the Euro 3 emissions standard. The interior got new upholstery fabrics and a third headrest at the back.

Nubira (J200, 2003-2004)

This Nubira already celebrated its world premiere at the Seoul Motor Show 2002.

In Korea, the new model was immediately on sale as Daewoo Lacetti . The vehicle designed by Pininfarina was also available in Germany from mid-2003 . The station wagon was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2004 and was available at dealers four months later.

Like the Lacetti, the Nubira has some European components and was also coordinated in England with regard to the chassis and driving behavior. A 1.6l with 80 KW and a 1.8l in-line four-cylinder engine with 90 KW were offered as drive.

After the restructuring of Daewoo and the new GM model policy (General Motors), the model was available in Germany under the name Chevrolet Nubira from the beginning of 2005 .
