The GM Daewoo Vidamco Công Ty Cổ Phan is on 14 December 1993 under the name Vietnam Daewoo Motor Company Limited , was established automakers with headquarters in the district Tứ Hiệp the metropolis Ha Noi . Around 500 buses leave the factory buildings every year. Two other models, the Daewoo Nubira and the Daewoo Leganza , were introduced in June 1998 and were a complete success, especially with authorities and companies. The Cielo, on the other hand, recorded its success with taxi companies. In September, the Daewoo Matiz small car was introduced, which made a name for itself on the market primarily as an inexpensive motorhome, with a strong advertising campaign helping to build up this image.

With the approval of the Vietnamese government to trade shares on the stock exchange, the domestic group Vidamco finally took over 100 percent of the company. Assembly of the Daewoo Lanos started just a month later . A major order from the Iraqi General Automobile Machinery Company prompted the plant operator to modernize its plant first. The trade agreement came about at the political level and consisted mainly of a program on the trade in food and oil. A total of 525 units of the Daewoo BS106 were delivered to the Iraqi company. The contract was valued at $ 30 million. With the start of production in June, the work in the factory has now been divided between 2-shift operation. The next major order then came from Hanoi Transerco for the older model types BS090 and BS105, which had been ordered for Hanoi's city bus project. This was an unsuccessful attempt by the government to get as large a proportion of the city's inhabitants used to the use of public transport as possible so that they leave their bikes and mopeds as unused as possible.

The sixth Daewoo car model on the Vietnamese market became the Daewoo Magnus in February 2002 . The newly designed version of the Daewoo Matiz followed a little later . In December, which bought General Motors , the Daewoo and thus took over the Vietnamese subsidiary. The Daewoo Lacetti was then established as the first joint development in April 2004 . The notchback sedan of the Daewoo Gentra has been manufactured here as the last Vietnamese Daewoo model since 2006 . But the Chevrolet Captiva MaXX , Chevrolet Vivant , Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Cruze are also assembled here in the factory.
