The BYD F3 is a compact class sedan from the Chinese car manufacturer BYD Auto .

In 2010, the vehicle was number one in sales in China with 263,900 units, and 8th place according to other sources with 212,855 units.

From 2011 to autumn 2013, the BYD F3 was also manufactured by the Russian car manufacturer Taganrogski Awtomobilny Sawod .

A revised version of the F3 went on sale in March 2014 and February 2015.

design

The F3 has outwardly very similar to the first generation of the Toyota Corolla Altis (front) and the only in Japan offered Honda Fit Aria (rear) of the notchback version of the Honda Jazz and Honda Fit is.

Other versions were the slightly longer and higher quality BYD G3 , the plug-in hybrid model BYD F3DM and the hatchback BYD F3-R . Since August 2012, a more luxurious variant based on the F3 has also been offered with the BYD Su Rui .

Furnishing

All models are equipped as standard with a CD radio with MP3 function, air conditioning, a keyless start system comparable to the Keyless Go , electric window lifters front and rear, and electric exterior mirrors. Depending on the equipment variant, leather seats, front passenger airbag, fog lights and navigation system are only available as options; you can choose between six colors.

Technical specifications

The 80  kW front engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters is an in-house development of the manufacturer. This engine has been sold in the F3 since 2011. A manual 5-speed transmission and an automatic 6-speed dual clutch transmission are available. Mitsubishi Motors previously supplied a 73 kW gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters. Between 2014 and 2015, a supercharged 113 kW 1.5-liter petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission was also available.

The BYD F3 is equipped with MacPherson front suspension struts and a BYD torsion beam axle . The standard equipment includes an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution .
