The BYD Song Max is a van from the Chinese car manufacturer BYD Auto , a subsidiary of the BYD group .
history
The six or seven-seater van has been sold exclusively in China since September 2017. In 2018, the Song Max was the manufacturer's best-selling model with over 140,000 units. BYD presented a plug-in hybrid version of the van at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018 . It should go on sale in 2019 together with an electrically powered version.
The Song Max is the first vehicle from the Chinese manufacturer that was designed by Wolfgang Egger .
Technical specifications
At the market launch, the Song Max was only available with a 113 kW (154 hp) 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6- speed dual clutch transmission . This drive is also used in the BYD Qin , the BYD Song and the BYD S7 . The plug-in hybrid version followed in March 2019. The van has also been available with a battery-electric drive since October 2019.
