The BYD S7 is a sport utility vehicle produced by the Chinese car manufacturer BYD Auto , a subsidiary of the BYD group .
history
A near-series concept vehicle was shown at Auto Shanghai 2013 in April 2013 . The production version of the SUV was formally presented at the Beijing Auto Show 2014 in April 2014 as a luxury variant of the BYD S6 , which was discontinued in 2016. The S7 also provided the technical basis for the first generation of the BYD Tang, which was offered until 2018 . The seven-seater vehicle was sold in China from October 2014.

With the launch of the S7 paid exclusively with a maximum of 151 kW (205 hp) was turbocharged two-liter gasoline engine with direct fuel injection available, with a Sechsstufen- dual clutch transmission is connected. At the beginning of 2015, it was followed by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a maximum of 113 kW (154 hp), whose mixture preparation and engine charging followed the concept of the larger engine; however, it has a six-speed manual transmission . What both engines have in common is that their power is transferred to the front wheels .
