Stars in the C-NCAP - Crash Test (2011) |
The BYD S6 is a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the Chinese manufacturer BYD Auto , a subsidiary of the BYD Group . In 2011 it was the best-selling SUV in the People's Republic of China.
history
The BYD S6 was first announced in spring 2009, shown as a near-series prototype at Auto China 2010 and exhibited as a production model at the 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show . The official start of sales took place in April 2011 at the Auto Shanghai . More than 60,000 vehicles had already been sold in Germany by the end of the year. In the same year exports to some CIS countries started .
After the vehicle received the best possible 5-star rating in the demanding C-NCAP crash tests (comparable but not identical to Euro NCAP tests), it was voted SUV of the year 2011 in China . From 2012 the BYD S6 was also marketed in South America. The BYD S6 was revised in December 2015. BYD grants a four-year warranty (or 100,000 km) on this model .
Furnishing
All models are equipped as standard with air conditioning, a keyless start system comparable to Keyless Go and a speed-dependent, automatic door lock . The higher-quality models contain additional side curtain airbags and a reversing camera .
The heated exterior mirrors contain a welcome light that illuminates the floor in front of the vehicle doors; the right exterior mirror also contains an integrated camera that shows part of the blind spot that the driver cannot see on a 7- inch color monitor.
The standard equipment includes an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, which was taken over from Bosch .
