The WPB Anders ( W ielozadaniowa P latforma B ojowa "Anders" , in German: Multifunctional combat platform "Anders") is a light battle tank designed by the Polish company OBRUM . The concept vehicle was presented in September 2010 at the International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO, Międzynarodowy Salon Przemysłu Obronnego).
Development history
The production of the first prototype was funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education . The production was carried out by the Gliwice company OBRUM with the support of the Bumar Group. The vehicle designers used the experience of the Polish army in Afghanistan and Iraq . So far, only a few technology demonstrators have been made and have been shown at various arms fairs. The intention is that the WPB Anders will replace obsolete Soviet models such as the BMP-1 in the Polish armed forces.
